ZoomInfo is the most comprehensive directory of business information on people and companies in the world.  We have unique – and critical – infrastructure needs.  You’ll have the opportunity to manage a workflow that includes 7M+ visitors a month to our sites and applications that serve 3,000 customers. Because of the nature of our business – serving up fresh data to a large customer base, there are big database and reporting applications.  Our Tech Ops team is charged with keeping our live site up 24x7, while also maintaining our production environment, as well as handling all of our internal IT needs. Our production environment is pretty intense: supporting search technologies as well as heavy data management.

Basically: without this team, we don’t make, display, or deliver our products.

Since we are a small (65 employee) company in the midst of a large growth phase, we’re looking for a start-up mentality.  You should be strategic about IT planning, from anticipating resource needs to designing infrastructure that can scale with growth, but also still enjoy getting your hands dirty.

The Responsibilities

• Look both ways when crossing the street. Eat your vegetables.
• Manage our IT team: Hire, mentor, and train ‘em
• Manage all aspects of production and corporate IT
• Rolling your sleeves up and working side by side with the team to get things done
• Proactively perform production system capacity planning, anticipate future infrastructure needs, and provide recommendations.
• Plan and implement changes and upgrades to the systems, and network infrastructures.
• Oversee the planning, implementation, and auditing of information security activities related to the technical infrastructure.
• Responsible for all IT-related purchasing and budget allocation; works with corporate leadership to develop budgets, and oversees the release of funding to vendors in accordance with approved goals and objectives.
• Build and manage relationships with technical vendors.

The Requirements

• A proven track record of designing and supporting consumer internet infrastructure technologies, holding a role as a service architect or senior systems engineer.
• Experience mentoring and coaching staff on infrastructure technologies.
• You still love to get your hands dirty – but, you also know when to toggle back to let your staff shine.
• Must have strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
• Must be capable of resolving software and hardware issues.
• Strong customer support and system troubleshooting skills.
• Sense of humor and perspective
• Strategic thinker who likes to implement their solutions
• Technical skills should include:
  • Demonstrated web hosting support experience using Microsoft and Linux servers
  • VMware Host Virtualization technologies
  • Proven experience in supporting a critical nonstop environment
  • Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems 
  • Nagios, Cacti, QualysGuard, monitoring experience
  • Database Administration: Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL
  • Network Engineering
  • Security
